ISO 20000-1 standard


ISO 20000-1 is an international standard defining the requirements for establishing, implementing and managing an services management system The standard is based on a library of IT best practices ITIL (IT Infrastructure library), but is essentially an organizational standard and respects the general principles in ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 14001.

The standard is applicable mainly for the following types of organizations:

  1. Companies, whose subject is the provision of services to third parties (service organizations, system integrators, software companies, hosting companies, data centers, etc.)
  2. Large organizations in which the providing of quality services within the organization is crucial to their work (eg. government departments, telecoms, financial institutions and others)
